thanks for posting about the newark exhibit! i hadn't included it because new yorkers tend to be loathe to acknowledge that life, much less culturally rich life, exists beyond the city.
but it actually looks pretty easy to get to and appears to be well worth the trek, and then some: * Train From Penn Station - The Newark Light Rail connects Broad Street Station to Penn Station. Take the Light Rail to the Washington Park stop on Broad Street. The Museum is located across the Park on Washington Street. The Light Rail operates every 10 minutes during rush hour, every 15 minutes during non-peak hours and every 30 minutes on weekends and major holidays. * Bus NJ Transit buses go to Newark Penn Station. From Newark Penn Station- Transit Bus #'s 11, 28, 29, 44 & 72. From Broad St. Station - #13 or #27 to Broad St./Washington Pl. (Walk 2 blocks along park to Museum). |

The Rubin Museum of Art has always got a pertinent exhibit to South Asia and/or the Himalya either happening or "on deck". Unfortunately (for some reason) the RMANYC.ORG site always crashes my computer upon entry, so can't confirm their latest exhibits and schedule.
