Thanks Nattacia |

Nattacia,
Probably is not Bundi the best option to visit tribal villages. I think in the area beside Jodhpur you can visit Bishnoi villages, very interesting: Nevertheless, Bundi is a great place to stay, and in India you'll find tribal people almost everywhere. Jorge |

Thanks Jorge,
I am aware of Bishnoi villages near Jodhpur(my last trip in that area), however I'm still hoping to find other tribes (Pushkar Fair seems to be a good place, but in different time of a year). If not, maybe there will be some other interesting villages around Bundi, untouched by tourists. |

Nataccia,
I can recommend a visit to Thikarda a potter's village 11 km north of Bundi, nothing to see with Harry Potter. Take a motorickshaw to go there. In my Photo Gallery (in fact I have two galleries: jorge reverter and jorge jr) here in Indiamike you can see some pictures of the people in Thikarda. Jorge |

Tribal villages around Bundi
Hi Nataccia,
With respect to tribals in the belt of Hadoti i.e. Bundi, Kota, the main tribals there are the Seheriyas, who stay in a place called Baran. Its around 80-90 kms from Bundi and around 50 kms from Kota. Then there were the Kotia Bheels, who ruled over Kota. They have a fort in Akelgarh. Also, in Jhalawaar. Actually, I cudnt quite understand your purpose coz in this part of rajasthan, the tribals are mostly scattered. There were tribals called Garia Luhar who were originally from Chittaur, but now travel and can be found in every part of Rajasthan. If you tell me exactly what u were looking for, then can tell you more. Hope this helps. Maverick |
