| i propose that we have a thread of the month poll at the end of every month. like thorn tree has a thread of the day. at the end of every month, the mods can put up a poll with the options being the 8/10 threads they think were the best in that calendar month. members can vote to decide exactly which. what say?? |

| To be blunt, I don't think so because... --- stuff moves too fast here. Any thread that is even remembered from the beginning of a month to the end of one is unusual. --- I've never seen polls add much to any thread on this site. In fact, I've several times recommended turning them off altogether. They tend to give a very skewed result too, as so many people just can't be bothered with them. --- Indiamike fun tends to be spontaneous. Sometimes it is short-lived, and sometimes it is long-lived. Neither is better, or worse, and neither should get in the way of the serious stuff on the site. --- The site is too varied. To me, Classic Indian Books might be the best thread of the month, to someone else, something explaining railway Wait Lists might be, to yet another, a post which took a lot of work, and details the natural history of an area is just perfect. It is not fair, or maybe not even reasonable, to compare one against the other. Who's to judge? and last but far from least... --- The mods have got enough work to do as it is! Sorry ! |

| Photo-of-the-month is a nice touch & more than adequate for adding any 'weightings to content' .... especially on a, primarily, 'info-on-demand' travel site/forum.
