The Great Indian Hotel Room-Notice Thread

Have you seen a strange list of rules in your hotel? Have you seen a hotel notice that makes you smile? Here's the place to share it. No need to name the hotel if you don't wish to embarass them!

I'll start this off with some comments seen in the Residency Hotel, Trivandrum...

No cinema film to be stored in the room - damn, where am I to keep my 32 reels of the 'Sound of Music' that I always travel with?

Ladies wishing to visit gents in their rooms should contact the front desk, who will provide facilities in Reception - hmm, isn't that just a little too public?

The laundry list also quotes prices for 'Washing and Ironing' or just 'Ironing'. I guess when my socks get too bad, they'll look better if they are smooth. No point washing them if it saves money. And please can some lady tell me: just how do you iron a bra?

But... you never needed something ironing that was clean but creased? Especially if it just came from a case!

Added to which... ironing generally would be considered a separate service; you see lots of ironing people. Laundry is a little harder to find.

Sorry Nick, I'm not an 'ironing' kind of person. I used to own an iron, its true, and found it very useful for sticking that edging strip on chipboard. Other than that, I hadn't really thought of it.

Must dash - there's someone in Reception for me...

Pity she'll head straight back out as soon as she sees your creased clothes!
