ada pradhaman

Yes, it is a payasam, among the best ones you can have. absolutely divine. you get the packet/instant variety ( you can get it from some mallu friends or from some grocery shops that sells typicall mallu stuff like big bananas, coconut etc ). the instant version doesnt stand a chance compared to the ones prepared by experts.

caution - overdose can have you dozing off instantaneously.

ada is made from rice flour - made into a thin, chappati-like form, dried, and broken to very small pieces. they are the main ingredient in the payasam apart from milk and sugar.

there are two types of ada pradhaman - one with milk as the base, and the other with coconut milk+jaggery as the base. the milk one is called palada ( pal for milk) pradhaman.

here is a simple recipe:

Thumbs up Happy birthday beach!

You're given all of us IMers hours of fun and enlightenment!
I guess this is belated too, since there's a big time difference.
That brings up a deep philosophical question: is right now your birthday in New Caledonia? All over the galaxy? Have news of your birthday reached the ever-expanding limits of the universe?
They will some day, my boy.

Did I forget Shimla's birthday?
I'm so busy these days that I don't even remember whether I did or not. Wait, maybe I'm old...
