ok first thing first

Many Many Happy Returns of the Day, Dear Nick!!

not indulging into getting some beautiful flowers for you as I am on a slim dial up at the moment... but my wishes are as colorful and joyous as the flowers I wud have produced

Am sure you are having a good time there in the monsoon!

BTW DO invite all the garden-inhabitants for the party tonight!

Enjoying the monsoon down here near Kolhapur. Kinda scary scene it was along the Krishna, Panchaganga rivers. Thankfully the levels have started to recede now.

These monsoon winds are so lively and refreshing than those tropical rains. Loving to be here at this time of the year.
But sadly will not be able make any real monsoon treks in the Sahyadris. Will try tho.

And yes.....got a chance to ride the Mumbai locals in the rains when I landed. Been to Neral on the central line. And it was an amazing experience among the lovely n crazy crowd. Those typical pushes, abusive words, shouts in that very typical bambaiya lang.

"mere mobile me pani ghusela hai"

Was pity to hear this from a passenger who was banging his handset on his hand, thigh, head, and then the floor to get back the display. Alas! That banging did not help.

Spent around 4 hours in local and platform in the 5 hours stint to see a friend in Neral. It was fun!!! And the scenery at Neral was just awesome. Heavy black clouds playing around the Matheran and Peb mountains. Was beautiful!

And yes... Happy Birthday to all the other IMers who celebrated yet another year on this planet!

A low key day, with a drive and visit to Chennai's zoo. Just a stroll for a couple of hours, unfortunately got a sore throat, but still had a nice day.
