Tailored men's suits in Delhi

I hear that Delhi is a good place to get nice tailored men's suits. Can anyone recommend a particular place? I would like to get a suit for my husband.

Only 8 more days until our month-long trip...I'm very excited!!!

Raymonds @ Connaught Place do really good work.

cost

Thanks, Peak. Someone else has also mentioned Raymond's to me. I will check them out.

MeCasa, that was my next question.

How much should I expect to pay? If anyone could give a range or a ballpark idea of the cost, that would be great!

Thanks!

The cost is peanuts. The issue is getting that quality twill/material that you are satisfied with. I know the really shrewd buy top of the line material in HK and then get the tailoring done in India.

material

Yeah...can't make it to Hong Kong on this trip, so does Raymond's also have a reasonable selection of material, or do I have to buy that elsewhere? If I have to get it elsewhere, do you have recommendations?

Thanks a bunch!

There selection is more than fine - very friendly and honest people. Some people just gotta have that latest Hugo Boss twill though which you probably
won't find in New Delhi

Do not waste your money on tailors in India. I spent 2000 rupees for a suit made in Delhi two years ago. The style and fitting was a disaster. They are cheap...so is the quality.
I am off to Delhi this saturday with my wife. I noticed the temperature is around 50 F. Nice!

Yeah somewhat true. They're great for dress pants and whatnot, but you have to go high-end for blazers or go home.

Is Raymond's high end enough? I'm not looking to pay peanuts, I'll invest a cashew

Okay

Mecasa: It's time to turf those Herb Tarlek polyester - where's the flood suits you've got stock piled! If Raymond can't whip you up something half decent then they'll gladly direct to where you get it done - it's a very good starting point.

From my experience, walk in and you will know if it is worth it. Tailors that listen to you and insist that you see ALL options are a better sign than tailors that just want to get the work order going as fast as possible.

Good enough for me, I'm sure they understand "I want something very nice" versus "I only want to spend..."

Thanks
