Sending stuff and SMS (texts)?

Hi,

just a quick question, is sending stuff(like books, fabrics and suvenires) from Delhi to Northern Europe expensive? Does anybody have price examples? Boat, plane?

Also a couple of years ago I heared from a friend who had staid in India for half a year that SMS or text wasn't that common there and therefor free. Even if they were to not indian numbers. Is this still true?

Thanks

Stine

You want to send a boat or a plane?

Seriously... Indian postage rates are a lot cheaper than UK: don't know about Norway. And if you are not in a hurry and can send by surface mail....

Or, for a big consignement, go to a courier.

The mobile phone has taken over everybody's life in India now, and SMS is very common. And certainly not free.

But, with an Indian SIM card it is cheap, even International (Rs3, I think my last SMS to UK cost).

Stine,

you have many options for sending stuff back some are expensive, others not as much. It depednds on the speed of shipment.

As to SMSs, they are very common in India especially among the younger generation.

I pay Rs0.1 for local SMS

Charges vary a lot according to plan, but heck, even ten times 1 paise is still pretty cheap!
