School holidays in India

Are school holidays taken at the same time in all parts of India?

Does any member know of an up to date website with precise dates (regional if necessary) of school holidays for the rest of this year and next year?

School holidays (summer vacation) is about two months everywhere in India anytime between start of April and end June, depending on the region. Winter holidays between Christmas and New Year. Usually a week around Diwali / Dussera (aka Durga Pooja in West Bengal)... I do not have the exact dates... sorry.

The major rush to hill stations is mainly in Summer vacation and during the Diwali holidays.

.. in the Himalayan states the holidays are in winter... from December to March. So when whole of India would be vacationing in summers we used to slog in school in Shimla! Winter holidays were fun only for initial few days as later the cold would force us to stay inside..!!

God! I don't know why I typed all this.!!!!

Is this webpage of a School Holidays Calendar an acurate indication of the general school holidays in india?

Steven, I have my doubts because region wise the schools would, I suspect, close depending on local factors. This is other than the national holidays.
