Santa Claus in Jaisalmer??

Hi, we are in Jaisalmer for christmas.
Our daughter is 8 years old and is still a staunch believer in Santa Claus. We have reassured her that Santa will come to Jaisalmer although her father suggested we tell her he doesn't but I am not ready to break the magic just yet.

Anyway there is no way we can bring anything from home and keep it hidden for 24 days. (We arrive on the 1st Dec) So we thought this year Santa will bring things you can get in Jaisalmer!
So I guess what I want is reassurance that this is a good plan! I don't want to arrive and think oh we should have got something in Delhi.
She is definitely not a girly girl unlike her mother!!

Also I am not intending that she be able to get the the latest american craze or classic western toys. I am thinking of something uniquely Indian.

Another issue is she normally buys a present to give to an organisation that provides gifts for those children who are underpriveleged. Is there another alternative? I was wondering about maybe buying books and giving to a local school?? Always the school teacher!!

Anyway any suggestions welcome.

I think you'll see so much once you arrive and you can even take your daughter for a few pre-christmas swings through a bazzaar to see what really lights up her eyes.

I bought a couple of those Rajasthani puppets(no problem finding them ... they'll find you) for my nieces that were kinda of a hit.

hehe so true.

Anyway I agree. You will have no problems with this plan. There are no shortage of things to buy. If you have an extra day or 2 you can also get things custom made. Maybe a stuffed doll camel w/santa hat?

I really enjoyed Jaisalmer. Have fun.
