Where can I get a kurta or a salwar kameez for a good bargain in Delhi?? Any market places or can a go to a tailor to make one? What is the usual price of these? ![]() |

I found Karol Bagh to be a nice place to shop. If you're not into bargaining, there are a lot of nice air-conditioned family clothing stores that stock salwaar kameezes of all styles and colours. Party wear salwaar kameezes were around Rs. 800-5000 depending on the sequin work, and I think casual wear is cheaper on the whole.
Also, a walk around Chandni Chowk made me suspect that you can get a good bargain there if you know where to go. |

Sarojini market is mostly western stuff though - there are a couple of shops selling SK but they don't have a very big range. Karol Bagh was the best I found in Delhi for having them made, cotton suits including tailoring start from about 500 (readymades can be had cheaper)

Sarojini Market is mostly Western stuff?! Wow, they must have changed since I was last there. I bought most of my SK fabric and saris there.

Salwar Khameez
Sarojini Market does have a number of shops which sell saris and salwar Khameez. Lajpat Nagar is another area where you can get some good Indian clothes.
