"Rape of Tourist in Jodhpur"

My intention of starting the thread on the "Rape of Tourist in Jodhpur" was not to start a political argument, but to bring to fore, the fact that The Indian Administration and Judicial system is trying to change itself.
I put the news not because the lady in the news was white, it was because the lady in the news was a tourist visiting our country.
the verdict was given by the fast track court of Rajasthan High Court, and these courts were setup by the Vajpayee govt to expedite the judicial backlog and the current govt had initially done everything it could to stop these courts by not releasing any budgetary expenditure for this year. they did it only after lot of uproar in the media.
the witnesses helped a lot in solving this case, and its really heartening to see a case cleared so fast, compared to another case where another tourist was in varanasi on the same day for another similar case that happened with her 4 years back, and she was convinced to come back to varanasi to appear in the court against the accused.
In my opinion there should be separate fast track courts for addressing tourists cases, as these cases need to be cleared very quickly.

Agreed.

What I cannot understand is the need to use the sensational thread title. I also do not understand why we need to keep harping on the same issue.

What are we trying to prove here by repeatedly posting a message that has all kinds of undertones with enough potential to turn nasty - specially when a thread on the same subject had to closed by the moderator only recently?

The thread was closed because it was turned out of context.

This site is bout travel, tourists, and related issues - Can be good or Bad.

Can't we enlighten the visitors by forewarning them, and tell them that the syatem in india is not as bad as they have been told by different sources so far.

If the moderators feel this site is not for such a thing, just Delete this thread or Close it.
