Pukka products
Sometimes Indian product names had me giggling on the floor. Here are the ones I wrote down:
- the 'Guru' coathanger
- the 'Motherland' and 'My India' umbrellas ("100% waterproof")
- the 'Good luck' bottled water
- the 'Thums up' cola (a classic, of course)
- the 'Attacking Gypsy' toy car
Any more good names spotted out there?

1. I remember one "He-Mans"(!) brand of rum sometime in the 80s ! Do not know if it still exists.
2. A third class hooch joint on 60-feet road in Nashik calls itself the "gham bhulao bar" !!! "gham bhulao" means "forget worries" !!!!! I've never come across anything more ludicruous!!!

There was a PJ doing the rounds in Mumbai a couple of years back when the "Rupa" brand bras & panties advertisement was being aired on television. The concluding line of the ad. exhorted, "Peheniye Rupa ke bra aur panty", meaning "Wear Rupa's bras and panties". Now, Rupa is a common female name in India, so people used to ask, "Agar Rupa ke bra aur panty pehen ne hain, to Rupa kya pehenegi ?" Meaning " If Rupa's bra and panties are to be worn, what will Rupa wear ???"

I really loved some of the roadsigns in India, too: the vaguely pervy-sounding 'BE MILD ON MY CURVES' made me laugh.
The ones that really state the obvious are good value too ie: 'DRIVING IS RISKY IF YOU HAVE DRUNK WHISKY'.
