Please tell me lightning doesn't strike twice!

Air India flight makes emergency landing at Los Angeles International two hours after it takes off from same airport two hours before. All OK, but local news showed a lot of sparks. It blew a tire on takeoff.

*sigh*

I'm on that same flight Thursday.

Also wondering if this will mess up our schedule.

Update: After two successive Air India 136 flight mishaps out of LAX that were all over the news, we checked and determined that our flight, due to depart Los Angeles Thursday at 7:10 PM, wasn't scheduled to arrive at LAX until Friday at 10am! My friend, a travel agent, talked Air India into endorsing our tickets to American. We flew LA to Chicago, then Chicago nonstop to Delhi, a surprisingly completely painless 14.5 hours.

And I loooooove Udaipur!

Plug: Hotel Mewar Haveli, sister to Jagat Niwas, is fairly new (3-4 months) and lovely, and cheaper. Same area. Their rooftop restaurant, which nobody knows about, has an AMAZING view of the lake, and the food is excellent and reasonably priced.

Pleased to hear that you arrived safely after your change of air carrier. I can understand your concerns.

And I agree that Udaipur is wonderful, I thought it was clearly the most beautiful place of our entire trip, especially the view of the lake now that it is full.

Hope the rest of the trip goes well. Look forward to reading your posts.
