Nominating Obama for the Peace Prize ten days into his Presidency is like nominating Halle Berry for the Oscars in that bond movie based on her pre release bikini posters.

And giving him the Peace prize for his achievements is not even funny, though it is breathtaking.

The whole thing is a fluffy farce. But even that is nothing new.
True Dat; apparently he did more than Mahatma Gandhi who was nominated several times but never got the Nobel Peace prize!

Oh, I noticed that, Nick!

Obama's prize seems to be based on hopes for the future rather than on reality. Let's hope that in a few years, it will appear to have been deserved.

I'm still ticked off about the Literature Nobel -- apparently her books are only in print in Romanian and German.

of course I approve of Halle, with or without the bikini...I mean with or without the Nobel too. Why should she get it for a Bond movie based on her posters?

I am surprised that "how come Gandhi never won the peace prize" has not creeped into this thread yet. It seems to be everywhere else.
