Thumbs up Nick-H in print again...

Though I wouldn't personally like to call this Nick's best write-up here... it did get published (word by word) in OPEN magazine, 24th Apr '09 issue...

why don't you post the link to the magazine instead of the old IM thread?

That really is an embarrassing quote to have published out of context. Hopefully I'll survive...

And, I haven't actually been in print very often. There was that time that the Cornish Guardian drama critic accused me of overacting in a Kernow Players amateur dramatic presentation...

Would have been about 1969, I'd guess.

Anyway, the link to the magazine is here. Aadil sent it to me a while back.

But, at least it makes sense, I hope, in the thread; out of context it just sounds like a very racist thing to say.

I'll let you know if they let me back in the country when I return from London

I found the thread after a lot of searching, so couldn't let the effort go waste

Oh yes, and indiamike.com gets a mention too, right in the first paragraph

Here's the link.. Flash based, so actually feels like you are reading a magazine...

I gave up looking for the article after about two minutes searching ( well it is late) which of the nearly 70 pages is it on?

Oops... 70 pages, no just 6 pages in that thread.!!

It's on the first page itself... Nick's 2nd post and the thread's 10th...

This should get you there... #10

Oh, I found Nick's post easily enough, it's the magazine that has so many pages, and as I'm using a netbook with a tiny screen right now, it's hard for me to search for Nick's quotes in it without zooming in and scrolling round each page.

SOS: Missing Person...

Please look at this thread, even if you are not in India.: Have you seen Jonathan Spollen?

He could be anywhere now: You might have met him, be able to help, or give information.

Just read it. Impressive, even though I remember that comment on indiamike.

Now I am off to Europe where I will pretend to be 12 years old

Well, I'm glad that nobody seems to want to lynch me so far.

For any newcomers to the site, although the words are mine, of course, the observation was based very largely on the experiences of my wife, her twenties daughter, and a number of other Indian women who have lived here all their lives.

Errr... Not sure why I'm feeling the need to defend myself! Just paranoia --- I hope!

Probably.

And on the lynching, nobody can refute your statement unless they have found a way to be both a twenty year old typical Indian male and a 12 year old typical European male child. Which could get quite schizophrenic.
