Do you know that keeping birds as pets is illegal?
It is illegal to keep a bird in captivity, says the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) spokesman while elaborating on a proposed tax hike on pets from Rs 5 to Rs 500 that has drawn flak.

Just wondering, is this a new law thats been introduced or old? If its new, its about time it was enforced. If its an old law, were people even aware of it when they decided to keep Poppat, Bulbul and MithuLal in cages in their homes? Or is just another law that got passed and was never abided by?
