Mysore, Coorg, Ooty, and Silent Valley

Anybody been there recently and can share high/low points?
Anybody been trekking/hiking in these regions of late?
Any info would be of great help, esp. concerning Silent Valley, Wayanad or the Pattakal region of Kerala.

Love Mysore and Coorg. If you go to mysore, make sure you also go to University. It's called Manasagangotri (fountainhead of the Ganges of the Mind) . I love the campus..

Near coorg, there are quite a few nature places, like kemmangundi, kudremukh.

Never been to Ooty, but I know it's way too commercialized.

If you stick within the lake , palace side of ooty you would enjoy the place. Pop into the commercial zone once a day to just pick up your booze, fags and food. I found it very hard to find a meal am happy with anywhee in Ooty, neighbouring Coonoor had a fab Chinese restaurant.
