Murud and Janjira

How does one reach Murud and Janjira from mumbai? how long will it take and how much will the trip cost approx? Is it possible to return on the same day.

Hi,

The ultimate cost will depend on the mode of transport & type of accommodation you choose

Mumbai to Murud is about 165 km it takes about 4 hour to reach by road in private vehicles.
Various State run Buses ply on the route (Its better to get Mumbai-Alibaug bus then change at Alibaug). The ST Bus will take around 5 hours.
The nearest Train station is Roha.
Another interesting route is to catch ferry from Gateway to Alibaug / Rewas and go by bus from there. You can substantially cut your traveling time in this mode. However the ferry service does not start till October.

Various types of accommodations are available from Luxurious hotel resorts to villagers providing a roof for the night. Take your pick.
