Mediamatic Travel: Travel the cultural NOW with DIY–Travel Network for the Arts
[* Mach's disclaimer below]

Mediamatic Travel is a collaboration between Mediamatic and Partizan Publik.
* [Disclaimer: Mediamatic, a Dutch-international magazine & network on "new media, art, & society" I and no few like me have always had somewhat mixed feelings about: On the one hand, a fine platform for the avant-garde arts & related activism and theorizing, on the other hand, something of an elitist affair, with rates for their seminars and the likes certainly way out of league for most of the people involved I tend to meet.
Be that as it may (and certainly granted, they don't look to stand to make any direct profit off this), I was pointed to this new project of theirs; as usual, see for yourself what to make of it. The concept certainly struck me as charming (not to mention its certain inherent tongue-in-cheekness -- as their printed brochure mentions, "Ceci n'est pas une agence de voyage [This is not a travel bureau] -- The journeys in this catalogue don't exist. We don't sell any trips. Mediamatic Travel is a DIY travel agency: Make your own travels"), and perhaps and if anything a nice variant on the couchsurfing concept, so to speak. Who knows, maybe even fruitful. Happy browsing.]
