in Bangalore, it is citibank followed by ICICI but in general ICICI seems to be doing well especially th bombay and up north. If SBI has started doing it well, they'd be truly all India wide but I didn't notice any changes for some time.
There was a story in the papers that banks have started pooling in for setting up ATMs, so a particular bank's ATM is not a must have. I'd say
ICICI
Citibank
HDFC
SBI
are the biggest networks but I could be wrong.
As for manli & other stuff, sorry someone else would have to chip in.

most ATMS in India have a max amount of Rs 20,000 per day withdrawal limit. Wanna be smart ..pitch up at the atm at 11.50 ..withdraw yr first 20 grand ..let the clock turn to the next day ..u will be able to withdraw another 20,000. This system has been put in for your own security in case of loss of card u can loose only so much by unauthorised use !
My recommendations
UTI bank
Indus Ind Bank
..havent heard of downtimes at them
cheers

thanks - good advice
thanks - 20k is good and will hold me for 4 weeks no problem - unless im headed out far afield, no need to to take 40, in fact, 10 is good 2x a month. --thats a great tip goandentist.
one ends up having a prefence for a particular bank after awhile, of course fees if any are paramount - but say here in thailand, i like bank siam commerical -they just have their act together. even though its not the biggest or highest capitalized.
screw citibank -its evil but atm pooling is a great idea for india methinks. thanks dd.

That must be card limit /you/ must have set initially when you got your debit/credit card. I vaguely recollect being asked about withdrawal limits or was it a overdraft limit? at the bank

Depends on the bank you go to. It ranges from Rs15,000 to Rs25,000

.. Whichever works with your network. I have an ATM card from the US. It worked at ICICI and not at at State Bank. check the symbols behind your card.
