| Well.. nice picture Stinelie - is it a lot of blue flowers beside a lake (took a long time to download and I closed it off near the bottom)? Where did you take it? Maybe restaurants and coffeeshops won't be closed - take a look at Rangichangi's thread on Dilli coffeeshops for some ideas to pass your time! |

Look at state emporia along Baba Khadag Singh Road in Connaught Place (in a crunch these can be substituted by one Central Emporium on Janpath, but I prefer to walk through all of them, State as well as Central, if possible). There are people's markets too, although I often find more people there than things to buy. Even on Thursday, you could visit the gift shops in a few 5* hotels? Imperial's is small but nice; Taj Palace has a huge one; they all have something and they should be open. Good luck. Nice picture!

Change is good...Enjoy the summer in Norway---it probably lasts only a few days anyway ---and when it is too cold there, come back to India. If you are still missing India in Norway, find others there who are interested in India, form a club, plan next visit, etc. Good luck. PS. Scandinavia has a very special place in my heart. My first penfriend (when I was 12) was from Sweden. My wife is Norwegian-American and every year we go to a Norwegian fare in Iowa where, with all the rest, they also hold a rosemalling auction. One year, I bid on several pieces hoping to win one. I won most, which almost bankrupted me. Your comment about your wallet reminded me of that.

| Good luck with your shopping. You may want to try Santushti Shopping Complex near the Hotel Ashok. It has some nice boutiques but is overpriced - mostly catering to the foreign tourist crowd. It is a cut above some of the places you mentioned, at least in our experience. Depending upon which end of the spectrum you shop at - it may suite you. It is one sure place in Delhi where my wife finds stuff that interests her and we have shed money there consistently... |

| Thailand unfortunatelly didn't happend. I ended up with some serious stomackinfection when I got back from Delhi last time so i was on sickleave for a month and therefor was unable to go. It ended up being the reason why i had enough money to come back here though so all ends good Faster than my shadow i'm not as i've been here for over three weeks now I'll post a picture of my beautiful carpet when i get a hold of it yay ![]() |
