July/August
July/August
Can someone give me some idea what it is like travelling through India during July/August? I understand that it is wet, but does this mean that it rains all day everyday, or that it rains every afternoon between 2 and 6pm, or something else? I assume it varies from place to place, but any guidance would be most appreciated.

A liitle of all of that. In Delhi it meant regular rain at 2:15 just as I got on my bicycle from the Kendriya Hindi Sanstha. It came down like an overturned tub and I arrived looking and feeling like a drowned rat even with an umbrella. In Shimla it was 24 hour rain of a moderate sort. In Goa twice it was rare showers and great weather, once it was either rain or drizzle. Once in Andhra it rained so hard some the rail lines flooded and my family spent the night on the platform once more. Generally its hot and then it gets humid as well (Agra). One thing you can bet on is that you can't bet on the weather..
