Indian Railways in News

Saw two stories on Indian raliways in Economic Times and I thought I would share it here at Indiamike.

The first one is about the plans to launch another 'Palace-on-wheels' like train in a joint effort by Oberoi group, IRCTC and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation. Of course, such trains are waaaaaaaaaaay out of my reach but I thought the news might be of interest to others.

The second involves the railway Minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav. He was interacting with a group of US based MBA students where the topic was the turnaround of Indian Railways. What caught my eye was the following comment by a student.

Quote:
“We have been to Goa, Bangalore, Mumbai by rail and condition of rail coaches and platforms were up to the mark. Also, hordes of people of various hues on the railway platform add to the excitement,” ...
What do you say?

I was also thinking about asking a question regarding 'Indian Railways in the news'.

Does anyone know a website that lists all Indian Railways press releases?

I know that individual zones list their own press releases on their own websites (well, some do), but is there anywhere that lists all press releases?

There is so much happening at the moment on Indian Railways.

This might be the closest, you might have to subscribe to Press Information Bureau mails, specific to Indian Railways.

Thanks DD

Very interesting, I could have subscribed to at least a dozen of those departments, but chose just 3. (Railways, aviation and tourism)
