Indian IM'ers+Location
Is there any way of cross-referencing Indian IM'ers to locality?
The reason I ask is that there are some questions that could be more aptly covered by someone native to a certain district rather than by someone who has maybe spent a couple of weeks there. I know that it is a big ask, but is there anyone who calls Cochin or Kozhikode home? |

On the contrary I find that natives hardly ever explore their surroundings. I spent just one year in Kerala and have seen more of it than most of my Keralite friends..

That’s true I am from Kolkata and I cannot look at Kolkata as a tourist. Even after spending so many years, if someone asks for hotel recommendation in Kolkata, I fumble
.On the other hand, I expect someone native to a certain place would help me better to find out the most convenient way of transportation and some tips for longer stay in any particular are / city. Hence a location wise search option would be a great help. I know that there are some IMers who reside at ‘nowhere’, ’somewhere’, ‘on the earth’, ‘third rock from the sun’ or similar, still there are members from Delhi, Perth, NY, London etc. |

all of us can write, that does not mean all of us can churn out best sellers.
all of us can speak, that does not mean that all of us can become orators. all of us can run, that does not mean that all of us can win the marathon. all of us have limitations, while one may learn the ins and outs of a place by being there for a short time, others just cannot look beyond their noses! that is why this site is so popular - we combine our efforts to provide you the best of solutions.

I think most Indian members tend to look at their own geographical sections of the forum, so in this case if you post in the Kerala section you greatly increase your chances of receiving a reply.
I spend quite a bit of time on the forum shifting threads around, and sometimes I find that a thread that hasn't been replied to in days gets an answer within the hour. If a thread suddenly disappears while you are reading it, sorry, that was probably my doing. Someone pointed out to me recently that you can find members by location. Just click on members list at the top of the page, then click on search members, click on advanced search and enter location. Needless to say, this only works if members have entered a specific location - many members just enter "India".
