Indian Fabric shop websites or phone numbers

SO I am really intrested in Indian Fabric and jewelry....I am actually obsessed as I like to make stuff myself!!!! If anyone knows a good website that sells fabric in India ( at affordable prices)itself and ships overseas, I would greatly appreciate a heads up.
It can be sarees, any kinda heavy embroided lace, silks, satins with that trademark Indian feel.
Thanks

Hello suszankego,

Please do not put image links to a lot of photos in your post. It is tedious for people on slow connections.

I think Google is probably your friend here. When you visit India, which is the best way, you can ask about shops in specific cities, and we will recommend our favourites.

Are you familiar with the best areas in London to shop for these things? I'm sure you will be!

There weren't hot links, they are meant to show the pictures in the post not appear as links. Anyhow I have taken thenout because it seems this site doesn't work like the ones am used to.

Anyhow Thanks.

OK... No problem.

If you want to show pictures in a post on this site, then, after clicking Post Reply or Go Advanced, scroll down to a section called Manage Attachments and you can include them there. They will be uploaded to IndiaMike. They do have to be quite small though.

Technically, on vB boards, the IMG tag takes a URL and displays the image from that URL... but it is a hot link, and will be downloaded from the remote site every time somebody views the link on this one.

As you might have guessed, the cheapest prices and the largest selection would be found in India in person. Plus, you don't have to pay $$$ for shipping. Yeah, eBay has a few things but the prices are not always the best and the selection is often lacking.
Try Utsavsarees.com. They have a huge selection and will ship anywhere.
Another one is pochampally.com.

Oh yes, much sympathy. I sent a friend once. Half of what she got for me she got someone else to put in her bag. Only that person lived in Paris. Paris may not seem that far from London compared to India, but did I ever get it? Of course not!

Do you have favourite Indian shopping streets in London? Green Street used to be mine.

No. It helped that I used to live quite close to Green Street.

You can see a few shops one stop further, in East Ham High Street (unless you live in Barking!) showing more the South Indian style.
