Indian diaspora involved in Hedge fund fraud..

Indian Americans keep emphasizing the pluses of their contributions to the world of US business, the monetary success they enjoy etc.. Now this report indicating they are fully assimilating, just like any other immigrant group! Makes me feel a little better that these guys don't know much more than you or me, in terms of how financial markets move, and rely on good old cheating, to score.

Dig down into the article, for names( and companies) of the Indians charged..

The ring leader was Sri Lankan, not Indian.

Apart from that, there are a couple of Indian-sounding names, at least one of whom graduated from a US university with the ring leader. Maybe USA-born, even.

So... for "Indian", it might be safer to substitute "brown-skinned", but, whatever, neither race nor genetics seem particularly relevant to the case or the crime.

Indian-ness seems to me to be a non aspect of this case.

Yes, Indianness may not have anything to do with it..

It's just that the Indian American community is made out to be 'goody two shoes', and incapable of activities like this.... which as we all know is not true. That we all have 'feet of clay', is something being ascribed to Indian American community only now, leading to the next step : treating each person as an individual, not part of a collective( Indian american) group.

Ahh... I see.

Non Americans won't see your post in that context.

You've still got a Sri Lankan [-origin maybe] ringleader there, though!
