Indian Credit Card

Since IM have thousands of members and focused interest on India, can someone negotiate us bulk deal on India Mike credit card based on Indian Bank(CitiBank, ICICI Bank where are thou?). That would alleviate some of the air ticket purchasing and double pricing problems we face! Just an idea, I know it may be monumental task, but the issuing financial authority would have little to loose.

You have a point. May be a sticky stay on top post (Poll?) in forum can determine membership interest, In US, I have seen few hundred members of a unionshop succeessfully launched their own logoed credit card.

That is not a big deal. That is just co-branding. Even if India Mike was able to get a good deal with SBI or ICICI bank that would be with SBI USA and ICICI bank USA. Not SBI in India or ICICI in India. The card issued by the American/Canadian subsidiaries of Indian banks are not accepted while making online bookings on the various Indian domestic airlines websites. I have a MasterCard issued by ICICI Canada and it got rejected while booking online with Indian Airlines

For a start you'd have to pay your membership subscription, then the Financial Division of our full-time staff could take a look at the idea --- but GC has pretty much answered it anyway.

Non-citizens, non-immigrants, non-PIOs getting credit cards issued by an Indian bank? Not likely.

I went to a reading of that play last night in Manhattan. Very funny--and this was just a throwaway line! (One of the characters is a thinly veiled stand-in for Arundhati Roy, who has written a novel about the midgets of Punjab.) It's funny, and just so wrong (or right, I'm not sure), on so many levels!
