indiamike.com - London Branch.
Hello All,
Yesterday I met up with steven_ber for lunch (in a nice and cheap Punjabi restaurant in Whitechapel) and a few beers. If there is anybody else in the London area that wants to make this an irregular thing, then let me know. IainC. |

Fun, isn't it? I had lunch with Darmabum/Scott a few weeks ago -- in a cheap Pakistani restaurant. Great fun to meet and swap some stories!

... this would be impossible in Munich, Germany. We don't have cheap (!) indian/pakistani restaurants...

Well, I can't remember leaving the pub, was I alone?
God alone knows, If I took someone home, they weren't there in the morning, is that the best thing at my age? Of course, I only wanted one drink, every time I turned around there was another Newcastle Brown Ale next to me (£2, not bad for central London). Iain is a fascinating bloke, and a great Photographer too (checkout his website), but far better than that, he drinks Guinness, at only £1:50 a pint I'm onto a winner there. ![]() Last edited by steven_ber : Sep 3rd, 2003 at 12:25. |

I think I'm in much the same boat as Colin..
On the off chance anyone's passing through Canberra, consider this an open dinner-invitation. ![]() |

indiamike.com - London Branch.
The next meeting of the indiamike.com - London Branch will be this Sunday in Whitechapel. The format will be the same as usual, a really nice really cheap lunch at Tayyabs,a Punjabi restaurant, followed by a beer (or three) at a really nice and really cheap East End hostelry. As myself and Steven_ber have already heard each other's stories, it would be really good if anybody else in the London area could join us. Me and steve don't bite and the East End is not that bad, honest! If you don't know East London that well, then we could meet you at Whitechapel tube station.
Look forward to seeing you all, IainC. ![]() |

Sorry, got to prune my apple tree (not to mention the 269.5 miles from Preston to the East End). Have a good time though. rab and dreaminwombat plus my friend Sue, over here all the way from Dhaka, Bangladesh, all send their regards.
Why not have the next meeting in Chorley? |

Ok,OK, I get the message, how about Byron Bay? I will be up there to visit my daughter probably next month on my way to Townsville, both places have excellent fishing and I can personally guarantee free accomodation and beautiful weather. And of course you will get to hear all my India stories...
