India on the brain............
I've never been to India....I'm going in December for a month and I cannot stop thinking about it. I think it will be one of the best experiences of my life, not to mention my first trip out of the states. Everyone who knows me knows I'm going....I can't stop researching all the places I can go, see, and eat....I'm consumed. A month is not enough time to see everything I want to see. i've already come to the conclusion that I'm going back and I haven't even been
I'm so freaking excited. I wish tomorrow was December. |

I'm still working on an itinerary.......it's a bit difficult to figure where I want to go.....Kerala is one place I want to explore and I want to go to Udaipur too.

i think you need to get an itenerary in place...kerala is beautiful, as is udaipur and all of rajasthan..but they are also 2400 kms ( abt 1500 miles) apart! As a first timer, you may end up getting a bit confused if you actually land up here without planning where you want to head when you are here. You could do a north india circuit and combine it with goa or do a south india circuit, doing a north-south combine is possible if you plan in advance :-)

you have the best part of your route:
India! the rest is details, and there's something to be said for not having a route "back in the day . . . " (yawn) many a traveler had no "route" ![]()

Viajera, i know just how you feel i am going in 12 days for the first time and i have been living breathing and talking India for months now. Its in my head all my waking hours, i think i have OCD! either that or i have been bewitched. it is sooo compelling i can hardly concentrate on the simplest of ordinary things. as soon as i get downstairs in the morning i turn on indiamike to catch up on the latest info (dont contribute very often as quite shy) check it through the day and never go to bed without a final look no matter how knackered i am.
apart form that re itineraries...i was torn between just going and worrying about where when the time came but decided lack of any planning may mean i miss something magical. i know many places must be 'magical' and i cnat go to them all but the first trip, well i want to pack in as much as poss. and then go back again and again and again. good luck and keep u sing this brill site! |
