India in April
India in April
Hello. I am planning a solo six week trip to India mid-April to end of May. In researching, I have come up with a preliminary trip itinerary and would like to have some input.
I would like to visit the following places:
Rajastan, Agra, Jaipur, Jodphur Agra, Varanarsi, Goa, Kerala.
My major concern is the weather during this time of travel.
Would prefer to start in the North and then end in the south with a long leisurely stay in Kerala practicing yoga. Given the hot weather should I devote more time in the cool environs of the north?
Himshal Pradrash (forgive my spelling) has been recommended to me. Any ideas on that?
I welcome all suggestions.
Thanks!

The cool environs of the north???
Not in May definitely - it's getting pretty hot in Rajasthan and the Ganges plain. I think it would be better for you to see the North first and then head South.
People are often confused by this reverse climate of what you might expect - cooler in the North and hotter in the South.
Any of the Himalayan hill stations in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal will be much cooler than places like Delhi and Agra.

What a long strange trip it's been!
I can't imagine doing six weeks of your itinerary in the summer by choice. We'd suggest you rethink your destinations and stay up in the hills/mountains.
Reject violence.
you will get used to the heat and be fine. your original plan sounds good. have fun!
