India during June/July/August?
India during June/July/August?
Posted this in the itinerary section originally but not too many replies, so hoping for some more here... hope that's okay to do!
I am really into heading to Ladakh but ideally want to spend a couple of months away, where else could I go in this time?
Hi guys, it's been too long since I've been on this site!
I come asking for all your wisdom again. Please.
So basically I am starting to feel I need a break, big time. Thinking of giving up my house, taking my next student finance payment and running away for a couple of months before my final year.
I love India and dream of the day I go back, so it's a natural choice for me. Plus, once there, I can make my money go further.
However, my only experience has been about a month in Rajasthan (Delhi - Mumbai via Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ranthambhore and Udaipur) during November/December.
Basically what I would like to know is if you lovely people would recommend India during the rainy months, if there is anywhere to particularly avoid/go for? I appreciate that the rains can be fickle, at lease judging on what I have read, but are they generally non-stop or bearable? Would it be a miserable couple of months?
Thanks in advance!
Lauren

I went there for one month in late July/August and had a great time. The monsoon rain never really stopped us doing anything at all.
I prefer dry heat so the humidity was quite draining but okay.
Everwhere's really green, the rivers a full, it makes for a lovely landscape.
We'd originally planned to go to Ladakh but this fell through and it seems the ideal time of year to go there. Kerala is another possibility for you.
