India: Arunachal Pradesh - Assam - Meghalaya

Does anybody know if there are any travel restrictions to travel on a individual base (2 male) through Arunachal Pradesh - Assam and Meghalaya ? Must we request any permits or not? How is travelling in this area in december ? What about the weather in this period of the year ? What are the "must see" in this area ? Thanks Pukkie.

Would love to hear first-hand experiences from Arunachal, but I'm pretty sure every one of these questions is covered in any standard India guidebook. You might have better luck and faster results there.

Permit is required to visit Arunachal even for Indians too. This is a vast state to explore the nature. Itanagar , Bhalukpong , Bomdila ,Tawang ,Zero , Miao are some places to visit. In Assam -Guwahati , Kaziranga Forest , Silchar , Tejpur & in Meghalaya - Shillong , Cherapunji - Mausingram , Jainthia/Garo Hills .
