i have my dates!

my travel dates have changed a few times due to majorly booked airlines and hotels.

ends up, i'm leaving the u.s. on 25 april. will only be able to stay for 10 days due to family obligations, but it was simply the best i could do. going for work, but now have a weekend in there. leaving here on a sunday and leaving india on a tuesday.

HAVE to get some good shopping in and would like to see something great.

btw...going to bangalore. any tips would be great. went to mumbai last year, so bangalore is completely new for me.

Karnataka is probably one of the best places for architectural sights, if you are into things like that.. ;) Belur, Halebid, Shravanabelagola, Dharamshala/Dharamasthala, Hampi are all great places to visit, and most of them are pretty closely packed together. If you do visit these places, be sure to employ an English speaking guide (and ask him plenty of questions :P). I remember that Belur and Halebid have ASI (Archaeological Survey Of India) guides whom you can hire. Try and get a receipt if you can :)

If you want to truly go shopping you should go to Chennai - larger and cheaper. It's about 5.5 hours away by train.
