How do you commute?

BBC was inviting readers photos on how do you commute in your city. Their selection is up now. I wanted to share with you all that my picture also got feature

(Look at picture 4). I liked the picture 9 best, from Jaipur. What do you say?

Well done for getting published

I like picture 3: a family of five on a motorbike. Unfortunately this practice is very common here in Chennai, and perhaps throughout India (and now, we see, in Pakistan). I don't see how they'll ever stop it, even if they were to try.

Some nostalgia there for me with a picture of the London Tube --- although my last job required only a short over-ground (15-minute) train journey, in relative comfort. I almost always got a seat. But only because I was also almost always late!

The most shocking was Bangkok. An hour just to get out of the car park! I'd be wanting to go back home for lunch by then. Followed by one and a half hours of driving. Four to five hours driving in a day? How to find time for any work? Let alone any life!

Nick, thanks for sharing your thoughts. So you managed to go late sometimes and get away with it?

I really don't know... sometimes one finds a niche! I've been lucky to do that twice: sixteen years with one company and eleven with another.

But it was never going to work to work out with the merger, else I wouldn't be sitting here in India --- so things do work out, sometimes, all of their own accord
