Hot water bucket?? Geyser ???
Ok so this may be a stupid question, but I want to be informed before I go.Going through my Lonely Planet Guide, and bearing in mind I'll be staying in budget accomodation (100 - 300Rs), I came across 2 things about toilets: - What is the hot water bucket provided (sometimes for free)? Is it REALLY a hot water bucket ? O mean, the guy in the hotel goes heat some water, knocks on your door yelling "HOT WATER"!!! ? - What is a geyser in a bathroon ? Is it the european thing next to the toilet with taps to wash yourself after you do it ? Thanks ![]() |

Hot water bucket is exactly that, a bucket of hot water, which you will mix into a bucket of cold water to make warm, whereupon you will use a dipper and wash yourself. If there is a shower, it will be cold water only.
A geyser is a small in-room electric hot water heater, usually mounted on the wall, which must be turned on by a switch. After that, hot water will come out of a tap. |
