help needed for bike trip.
hi everybody...
this is my 1st post on indiamike... i have planned for a bike trip to mangalore on august 4th and we are 3 of us n 3 bikes. i want to knw the weathr and othr road conditions frm bangalore to mangalore. help and tips for bike trip is welcome.. plz let us knw wat all to take precautions coz i heard its raining cats and d0gs over there. ![]() |

There would be rain....
The Road from Bangalore to Mangalore can be best described in stages. Bangalore to Saklespur, just OK with some spots of major damage to the highway. Saklespur to Nellyadi, ghat road, damaged around the bends. Nellyadi to Bantwal, just OK...... Then Bantwal to Mangalore..... 25 kms of torture. You would rue the decision to come down to Mangalore.

Except for the roads (which are really bad - particularly in the ghats and from Bantwal - Mangalore) the rains are manageable. It rains, at times heavily, but not continiously.
All ghat roads are the same during monsoons, so cannot suggest alternate. |
