Happy independence day. It reminds me that before 1947 we (Bangladesh, India & Pakistan) were united nation.

Happy Birthday!

mahmud,

does Bangladesh still have some celebrations for 14th/15th August, or does the day go unnoticed?

Thumbs up

yes, as indians, pakistanis and bangla deshis, we have progressed a lot since the forties. but, stiill we have a long way to go. if we bury our differences and resolve to stand up as a single entity, we can create wonders.

As you know Pakistan suffered Bangladeshies a lot & killed millions of people in 1971. So, Pakistani Independence day not observed in this country. But in some newspapers publish special issues for Indian independence day. Because India was the best friend of us in 1971.

Other hand, 15 th Aug is the death day of our Great Leader Bangbandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In 1975 he was shott dead by some Army oficers. So, the Awami League observes the day with sorrow.
