This confuses me: we celebrate tomorrow, but is it tonight that all you Northies are celebrating?

There's a lot of crackers going off around here, but we have people from everywhere in this area. Even an Englishman!

Brishti, that was a hurried effort by someone anxious to get off to their village! But we had to have something!

We're 9.5 hrs behind India, so a bit early but in my family we just go w/ chhoti (Little) Diwali today and Big Diwali tomorrow. Happy Diwali wishes to everyone here on IndiaMike, and to the rest of the world as well

My husband and kids just love Diwali. Not just the dressing up in Indian silks, but the whole shebang. We're not allowed fireworks here in the city limits but we have all our diyas/lamps ready, and my son who is a wonderful artist made a rangoli. He will be away to college next year at this time, so I'm all sad that this might be our last Diwali together just the 4 of us. He has made a template for me, saying next yr just put in the colors and voila pretty design ready to go. Such a good Indo-American boy!

It's so nice Diwali fell on a saturday this year. This way we can have a big get together with all our Indian and non-Indian friends tomorrow after our private ceremonies.
