Going Back
Since coming back from our adventure trip in India, John and I have been trying to decide what to do next. "We're too tired to go back to India," we said. "How about going to London and hanging out in pubs?" So then we started to work on that plan, but something wasn't right. Maybe an excursion to Dublin and a visit to the Guinness Brewery would be fun. Or how about a trip to Amsterdam and spending time in a Brown Cafe gettin high. Or what about going to Paris?
And then my brother got involved.... But when he dropped out this last weekend, John and I said immediately, "Let's go back to India." Turns out, it was all either of us wanted to do but hadn't told each other. Sure, that first trip was learning experience, but it was also the greatest adventure of our lives (at least mine because he's had quite a few). We learned a lot from our first trip and expect to make up for those mistakes on the next trip. This time we'll spend 5 or 6 days in Delhi doing things we didn't get to do - like spending not one but two days getting lost in the Old Delhi market - and then a week and a half in Rajasthan. Since we've been to Jaipur, we're skipping it this time. So the plan is this: Train to Bikaner Bus (or possibly train?) to Jaisalmer Train to Jodhpur Back to Delhi We don't want to do any camels. We're thinking three nights in each of these towns. Even if that is too much for, perhaps, Bikaner, we like slowness and thoroughness best. I need to do a more thorough search of Indiamike for suggestions but if any of you want to toss them out at me, go ahead. And suddenly with this plan, we've got piles of travel books out again and we're looking things up on line and feeling totally enthusiastic rather than wishywashy. So hurray hurray oh hurray I'm so excited! |

Good for You!
The first trip to India often throws you . . . on my fifth trip last year I got thrown a few times, but like you, always learning . . . seeing beyond the facade to the heart of it . . . Fall down seven times, get up eight!
Have a great (return) trip.
