Goa or Gokarna

I am planing a two month trip to india and the two places that people tell me to go to are Goa and Gokarna.
I was wondering which of the two places you all prefer to visit and what are some of the thing to see and do there.
i also have been told that Om beach is the place to go, what are your thoughts on the diferent beaches there.
thanks

it all depends on what you are looking for.
Gokarna is more relaxed and chilled with beautiful beaches and landscapes. it is more original and preserved. it hasn't been yet invaded by the mass of tourists.
Goa is touristier and there is a lot more variety of people that go there. There are many things to do in Goa, such as partying hard if you are into this, riding a motorbike or a scooter or just relaxing under the sun.
in Goa you have a lot more western food and it is more developed for the tourists than Gokarna is.

Go to both the places.

In fact, i think u must go to goa, karwar and gokarna.

Karwar is 10 kms south of goa on west coast of India.

Gokarna is about 70 kms south of Karwar.

You can travel between these places by bus...they are convenient.

Karwar is beautiful with the western ghats ( mountains ) rising out of the sea...nice place.

Gokarna is a small town with a fabulous beach..between 2 mountains ( the western ghats ). It is charming and nice, but, does not have the party crowd of Goa.
