My honeymoon is just over 2 months away - we're doing the very traditional Golden Triangle route (Delhi-Agra-Jaipur) with a couple of nights in Mumbai, and from there on to Mauritius. I've had my shots, bought my insect repellent, stocked up on loose, light cotton, and read everything I can to try to prepare me for what India is like (and I know it'll still be a huge shock when we get there). I've researched the behaviour of the monsoon. I've heard all the warnings and defended our plans to all my skeptical friends and relatives.

And now, I just want to hear wonderful things about what I can look forward to. I know it'll be amazing and I can't wait to get over there, but all the negativity is starting to get me down. So - high points, let's hear them.

Just 2 Cents.

Are you doing Golden Triangle for Honeymoon?
You may have other better options.
Like Kerala - Munnar, Waynad, Tekkady, Houseboating. (They have special Monsoon Honeymoon packages etc..)
Karnataka - Madikeri/coorg.

If you still want to do Golden Triangle or any other I said before, you need not worry.
You will not have much problems. Of course, when it is downpouring outside, you know, you have lock up inside your hotel room.

I would have to agree. Kerala is probably a better destination for a honeymoon. However, the North should be slightly cooler in later summer.

Congratulations.. Just don't pack your itenerary and you'll have a great honeymoon. Remember, almost everything takes more time and is more complicated in India. Double check any reservations that you have before you leave.

congrats on your impending marriage!

However, I agree with the others. Rajasthan and Delhi is horrid weather in the Summer time (up until September). If you want to bear 120 degree weather, be my guest but you are probably better off going where the weather is better.

Thumbs up In Bed, air cond on COLD!

Get up real early & see some sights daily, then back to bed, air cond on cold, and order room service! Yeh! Take some Aussie sparkling wine with you (better than French stuff, imho) and have a sumptuous time! Rajasthan will be unforgettable!

Oh, what a waste of a trip! Going all the way to the beautiful hills just for snuggling under the covers!! They might as well stay at home !

Talking Get er done

The phrase Get er done is real popular here in the USA. That would be my advice to your hubby. The other piece of advice on your honeymoon night is what a friend gave me many moons ago: Concentrate!!

Jokes aside happy honeymoon and travels in India.

Consider Bangalore!

My first trip to India was to Bangalore to be a staff person at an International interfaith conference. Bangalore was chosen because it would be relatively cool in August and the confernce had to be in India & had to be in August and half of the participants were from temperate climate.

I had my honeymooon in Lonavla in June. It was still too hot in the hills.

Enjoy no matter where you go.
Congratualations on your upcoming marriage.
