four months from today....

Exactly four months from today I leave for Chennai to study yoga, woo-hoo!

Of course, I plan to stick with IM up to the very last minute to read all these great posts. Many thanks to all of you who have helped me with my questions (especially Nick in Chennai ).....I'm sure I will have lots more before I leave.

Enjoy India, and let us know what you thought about India when you get back.

Do quickly abandon all our suggestions when you get to India--make your own way. All the advice here is just about peace of mind. Once you step off the plane, and that first blast of diesel- and jasmine-suffused subcontinental air hits your face, you're on your own.

LOL Said I to my friend stepping out of a Spanish airport: Ah smells like the tropics. Said she to me: It's the traffic you doofus.

Have a wonderful time Yogagal, the anticipation is half the fun. Parabol recently wrote how after hearing all the stories he found his nightly arrival in Delhi quite easy-going really

I actually plan to do just that. My yoga trainer told me to just expect the unexpected and then some. I know there is no way one can really "prepare", because life can change in a split second. What is up one minute, can be down the next, such is life.

I'm just looking forward to my first trip overseas and to studying yoga with a master.

I'm quite jealous that your first trip abroad is to India. In that case, I can't emphasize enough the need to forget everything we told you! How lucky you are!

As for that Indian airport smell... damp and disinfectant as well as fuel! I always take a big deep wonderful breath of it when I arrive in Chennai.

Within 24 hours you will stop noticing that everything smells damp.

But, 4 months? Oh! How can you wait that long?!!!
