| Crown Prince of San Leandro | foreign exchange I going to be taking off to India in less than two weeks and need to exchange USD for some Indian & Nepalese Rupees before I go. Do you guys know what websites offere these services? Where do you usually go for this? My local Bank, Bank of America, didn't have indian or nepalese rupees available for exchange on their website.

| Get cash when you're there. Take some USD and a cash card to use in ATM's.

| the TuRbAnAtOr | www.xe.com gives pretty exact exchange rates, though i agree with john, take some cash with you (US$) you can easily change them in India. Also carry along your cash card and there are plenty of ATMs in India and as long as you are on the visa/cirrus network, withdrawing cash anywhere in India will be a piece of cake. Should you want to change $$ in India, you will probably get a better rate from the non-official forex dealers, the rule is the higher denomination of the $ bill, the better rate u get ( unofficially) ie US$20 bill will probably get you Rs 45 per dollar wherein $100 bill can get you upto Rs 47 per dollar, depending on your bargaining skills Enjoy your trip |

| Let me make a slight correction you can buy Rupees outside of India at exchange services but at a handsome premium. The Rupee is only partially free as a currency.. |
