feeding dogs in India

What do you feed dogs in India? Often man's best friend doesn't want the food I've got, and I'm left dumbfounded. Biscuits, crackers of all kind (even 50/50 masala - my favorite with Amul cheese, if I can find it), the dogs just don't want it. They want meat, perhaps? But there's not much meat just hanging around. Walking around, yes. Sometimes it even slobbers on my arm, and it eats bananas. Sometimes when I'm bored, I talk to it.

But the dogs on the other hand, have me puzzled. Any thoughts?

When I was a child in India our family dog ate what we ate, rice and curry. And when we immigrated to Australia, our family Australian dog got rice and curry too. (Both meat and vegetarian curries). They both were very happy healthy dogs.

Our dog who lives with us for 4 months a year in India (the rest of the year he is a beach bum) likes rice and curry, leftover fish, chips, crackers, tins of tuna, in fact pretty much anything we put in front of him.
If you're really keen, dried dog food is also available in India, just find your local pet shop!!
