The only celebrity I saw in India was Dalai Lama. Even if I saw any Indian actors/actresses or other important people, I wouldn't have knows, since I don't really know them..

Now I know a lot of our female members will be jealous here, I met Matt Damon twice in Palolem, he even said hallo!
No, you won't make me jealous. He doesn't do it to me.. But if you see Ethan Hawke, please mention me..

But hey, nobody has mentioned 'indiamike'. He's a celebrity! Who met indiamike in India?...v
BTW, to reveal a little secret... he does look like Ethan Hawke

Ethan Hawke went to my high school in Princeton Junction NJ. He was quite popular even back then...especially with the ladies I missed him by a few years, but saw plenty of pics and yearbooks and stuff.

But I dont like what he did to Uma his wife (cheated on her)..yea he's definetly hot..but even though hes just an actor..I cant help but judge him for his actions.

Matt Damon... Yumooo

that I didn't know..
it's pretty sad when that happens. I guess Uma was smart for devorcing him then.

I once sat next to Ethan Hawke on the subway.
All the way from 14th street to 116th street, I noticed that people kept looking the guy next to me...I finally sneaked a sideways glance and realized it was Ethan Hawke.

One wintry January night way back in 1987 or 88 biking from south Delhi towards North I lost my way in those numerous round abouts around Race Course road and finally hit a road that I thought will take me North, on the left side there was a small kali temple half on the road and half on pavement I saw a barely teen boy and a foreigner wrapped up in shawl and kurta pyjama and I thought 1.30 am in winters is a very odd time for anyone to venture out and as I passed by the duo and suddenly as if by a spasm I was slamming the breaks though my mind was blank. Suddenly it dawned upon me it is George Harrison with his son so I went back and had a little chat with him. I have to admit that notwithstanding beatlemenia, George as a person was outstanding human and his understanding and knowledge was amazing. He told me he often roam about in night and really avoid the crowds that way. That time at the temple he was explaining to his son, concept of kali and shakti. I had not a scrape of paper on me so I asked if he could autograph for me on a 10-rupee note, which very graciously he did. I can never forget that meeting.

In 1997 I saw this big guy at Patna railway station and kept rankling my brain for his name, all I could fish out from my dyslexic brain that he is from Hollywood. He said he is travelling incognito to Gaya and other Buddhist places. As I write his name slipped again, but he has been playing lead role as cook on some naval ship. I think the movie was Underseige.

1999 met a guy in Chopta in Himalayas and he claimed he is English but really in his previous birth he was Bobby Sand…. Notwithstanding the age issues overlapping!!! Then he placed a small wedger if any of us can walk half a kilometre on the reserve forest road in pitch dark, which I won. Later on he told me he just wanted to get rid of me because he was really deep in thoughts about doing Gay Fawkes to Brits one more time. I think Bobby takes the cake when it comes to meeting famous people!!!!

If you get in a London taxi cab, something like this may happen...

"Indian are you? I had that Ghandi bloke in the back the other day. 'E gave me this great Beef Curry recipe; told me 'e got it down-under...

Funny clothes 'e was wearing; I soon put him right on that, 'Saville Row, Gov,' I said to him. Him a lawyer and all: you'd 'ave thought 'ed have a decent suit.

Anyway, I told 'im, ' 'Ere: I 'ad that Jinner bloke in the back the other day'. Partition? I soon put 'im right on partition..."

Many London taxi drivers have driven famous people around ---and they love to tell you about it . And to let you know they know best about most things.

Well, that's the stereotype, at least... ...

A few

I've met a few, but one embarassing incident I can't forget..

It was almost 10 years ago, I think in 1996 or 1997. We were having a small gathering at a friend's place in south Delhi and I had one drink too many.

Around midnight, I decided to leave and as I approached the front door, the bell rang. I opened the door to find a guy and a girl smiling at me. The guy held out his hand, saying, "Hi, I'm Ajay".

The girl said, "How can you leave, we've just come". On being insisted I stayed back for just another quick drink - that was a real quick one.

I chatted with Ajay and kept telling him how familiar he looked and that I thought I'd met him before. And probably to humour me, he also said the same.

One of my friends kept giving me looks and it was only the next day when she called me, I realised who 'Ajay' was.

He was Ajay Jadeja, the cricketer!

I have just met Bishen Singh Bedi (legendary left arm spinner) when I was in Bishop Cotton School, it was my first day , he was there for a cricket camp.

I have gone past few of them on Delhi streets.

Sushmita Sen - Janpath, it was just after she had won Miss Universe title.

Ajay Jadeja - PVR Saket, he was in car with his friends.

Sanjay Dutt - Waves Cinema Noida, he had come there with Mr. Amar Singh probably campaigning for his party.

famous ppl.

I once ran into Aman Ali Bangaash and Ayaan Ali Bangash at the airport in Kol.

I've met our very own city hero Sourav Ganguli on quite a few occasions, him being an alumnus of the school i went to.

Ran into Mira Nair in Dharamsala once.

Hosted Mr. Richard Stallman for a fest in our college once. Extremely nutsy guy. He was our worst nightmare as a guest. Very unpredictable and extremely volatile person.

I have met a lot of people because i was doing some PR work a few years back. Mostly authors and actors and musicians, and painters... but this one is very funny.

My family and friends always tease me because whenever i go out on the streets, i invariably end up saying... "I have seen that guy somewhere, or that girl somewhere." It's become a cliche with me. So most days I just keep my thoughts to myself. But, one day, we were watching cricket in Eden Gardens, and since we wre in the VIP encloser, a lot of who's who were walking past, so this guy looked really familier. So i told my hubby, "this guy is really familier. I am positive, I've met him some place." Hubby gave me a dirty look and said. "That's Harsha Bhogle!" well... i've still not heard the end of that one.

Yes, Vinay Verma, famous people indeed.
