Can anyone tell me the current exchange rate for GB Pounds, comparing Cash T/cs and ATMs.
In May we were getting a better rate using ATMs (our card issuer does not charge for use abroad). Im just planning ahead for our return later in the year

thanks Manicek. But currency converters dont alwas give a true picture of what you get when you go in a bank or use a machine
The service charge will vary from exchanger to exchanger add to that the daily currency rate chnges, and it will be quite difficult to predict what you will get win the future.

ATM cards typically offer better rate than cash, thats been my experience.

If your card issuer makes no charge then I would use it all the time. I was in France last week and got close to E1.46 to the pound with my no charge Nationwide card. This was very close to the actual wholesale rate available to people who trade money.
Carry a bit of real cash for emergencies (and rural areas) but use your ATM card everywhere else.
