Entering India in the middle of the night
Wow,
Just realised that i will arrive in Bangalore (for my first time india, alone) in the middle of the night (am 1:00)!  Is there any transport which can take me to a hotel?! Is there anybody who knows a good budget accomod which i don't need to book in advance(i am thinking of a Youth Hostel-Address: 65/2 Millers Road, Benson Town, Cantt. Bangalore – 560 056)?!appreciate your help, dude!  |

Taxi's are available whenever a fligh arrives. I have arrived at 1:30am and 4:00am.. and did not have a problem. Go with a pre-paid taxi. You've got to declare your destination and pay the fixed rate for that destination at the counter (in INR) before you leave the airport bldg. It costs aboout Rs 400 to go from the airport to the other end of Bangalore. The guy will hand you a slip that you have to hand over to the taxi driver. No bargaining required.
Accomodations are tight in Bangalore. Its best if you make arrangements before you arrrive. |
