Thumbs up E-mails from an Indian virgin.

Now, now, don't get too excited

When Chrissawka went on his first trip to India, he kept his family, friends, and a few members here updated via e-mails.

They were a wonderfull reminder of what it was like on a first visit.

Chris has decided to allow all the e-mails to be shown.

They make great reading, and bring back memories of strugling to get as much typed as possible in an Indian Internet cafe.

i'm killing myself laughing -- but have to stop reading for a while. It's like sitting down to a huge tub of ice-cream and chocolate cookies and must limit myself at one sitting and save some for later.

Chris and I got together for a KF or two when he passed through Arambol, and we watched the Carnival parade and went through some of his travel notes. Chris started shedding stuff at Arambol, and I was the lucky recipient of a kilo or so of black licorice (Yum!), and the guesthouse was pleased to get a couple of pads of post-it notes too. Our joy must be nothing compared to that of the recipients of chris's 7th day shirts however

will get back to this later. thanks for sharing, chris -- you're really a great sport!

I think some of it got edited out towards the end because of size limitations on the journal.

Oh...and any tags like < or > should be replaced with ( or ) or else the layout gets messed up. First two tags are html and it will display it funny.

BTW...where is Chris nowadays?

Like m2 I got to read a small bit and will finish it up this weekend. Good letters home. I always like those.

Maybe we will move it to the articles section.

Hey Chris,

Great read! I’ll have to take it in segments as well. When you heading back anyway? Well I’ll be thinking off you when I’m trooping around there in 11 days!

Chrissawka has been very busy working, the things we do for India.

I have added the second part of the e-mails in the journal section.

Mike, I will be happy to move it all if you think it would be better somewhere else.

I should have started a new thread and added one e-mail a week, that would have been fun.

Great write-up. Wish the html tags were cleaned out though..
Well, I should not complain.
People around the world put up with much worse and are happy.

Here is a picture of the women Chris is talking about.
I took this picture late December 2002 in Kodaikanal.

I have adjusted the link in the first thread to point the article to the Travel Articles section where I cleaned it up a little and broke it into several pages.

It's an enjoyable read and I for one am glad that we all shared part in helping Chris with this eye opening experience.
