....sorry got to run, I'm late for a little impromptu fund-raiser at the local airport.

Sorry for the intrusion but did you mean prerequisites or perquisites ?

(Ummm...the "wordly" prefix confused me )

Don't go to India unless you are prepared to get the 21 question salute at every turn (unless of course you're prepared to offer perquisites for them to stop).

That would be fine - as long as it's worldly not wordly grog.

That was a quick edit....

If I were to go by your initial post of "That would fine", obviously my query on the perk offer would not enable me to extricate myself out of such a penal situation in a manner which would make me feel fine...

My Aunt
“There is absolutely nothing of interest to see there”
“The place is full of poisonous snakes”
“The don’t use toilet paper over there”
“You would get fed up with eating curry every day.”
“Mother Teresa is dead, there would be no one to pick up the dead bodies."

A friend (in London)
“Why go there? They are all over here”
“They are killing Christians over there, aren’t they?”
“The place is full of foreigners”
“If the place waasn’t a dump. Why they all be getting on boats to try to get here”

The usual:
- you will get sick (yes I did, still had a lot of fun though)
- nothing will prepare you for India, you will be in shock, you just can't imagine it (was fully prepared, nothing shocked me, and I loved almost everything, handled the other things with no problems)
- being white you will not be able to get rid of beggars - from a Mumbai friend (yes, got approached, but had no problem getting rid of them by ignoring...only problem was in Jaipur when my friend gave a little girl a drink I had just purchased in a part where there were a lot of beggars - naturally and logically we were then surrounded...)
- you won't be able to use the toilets, they will all be dirty or not what you are used to, and no toilet paper (level of cleanliness was on par or better than what you find travelling here...and of course with the Indian style ones there is much less issue...and I much prefer the Indian way...)
- all the men will try to touch you(I actually found that men took care not to in general...maybe I am just repulsive lol)
- everyone will stare and then you will know what racism is (in some places they stared, yes (Goa for one - but all were so nice and helpful), but in some places like Mumbai not at all).
- you think you like hot food, well you don't know what hot food is until you go to India, you won't be able to eat it (had hot food, even when out with friends who would order one 'hot' and one bland in case I couldn't handle the 'hot' I had no problems...)
- my favourite, which was the warning to my travel companion for part of the trip...the kidnapping and trafficking of foreigners and especially of women for the sex trade... (have googled this, found nothing to worry about, neither of us were trafficked...)

Am still looking forward to seeing some of the people who made these warnings, and of course the 'India...why would you want to go to India?' crowd... Loved it, loved it, loved it! From day one...and still have not had a single dream since arriving back that did not involve India!
